Croyde Surfing & Coasteering trip

Dates: 22-24th September 2023

Minimum Age: Not applicable

From Friday 22nd September to Sunday 24th September, The Children’s Challenge has exclusive use of The Orchard Campsite in the centre of Croyde. For those that fancy it, breakfast, packed lunches and dinner can be provided by the Manor House Inn, and surfing and coasteering sessions provided by Surf South West. The trip is designed to build bonds and cement friendships amongst the local community, for both children and parents alike.

This experience is being sponsored by British Car Auctions (BCA) and as such all costs are designed to be a straight pass-through. The intention is that families pay no costs for the services of The Children’s Challenge.

At this stage, to secure a place on this trip, the payment of the camping fees is required. Unfortunately, the camping fees are non refundable. All other payments can be made at a later date. The camping fees have been calculated on a per person basis, assuming 50 participants, as shown below:

If the minimum of 50 participants is not reached - camping fees of £30 per person will be returned.

The total cost of the trip will be variable depending on the options chosen. This has been deliberately done to keep the experience as accessible as possible. On top of the mandatory camping fees, the following payments are optional, payable at a later date:

Coasteering and surfing would begin at c1000 on the Saturday with the afternoon surfing session commencing at c1300. Surfing on Sunday morning would be at c1000. In the case of coasteering, if participating children are under 8, parents will need to accompany them, at additional expense.

As an example of potential costs, the total for a family of 4 who each wanted to have 2 surfing sessions and a coasteering session, as well as enjoying all meals at the Manor House Inn would be as follows:

Alternatively, if this family wanted to be more selective, with just the children undertaking two surfing sessions and eating at the Manor House Inn only on the Saturday night, the cost could reduce significantly. Breakfast and lunch could either be brought from home or consumed elsewhere. This is shown below:

Before paying for camping, please ensure that you are happy with the likely total cost.
